Haven offers customers a lower rate of interest for going green if you are buying, moving to, or building a high energy-rated home. Our Green 4-year Fixed Rate mortgage offers a lower rate of interest for homes with a certified Building Energy Rating (BER)  between A1-B3.

Who is it for?

Available to PDH customers who are either a First Time Buyer, Movers, Switcher (switching a mortgage to us where you live in the property), buying a holiday home (in Ireland that you intend to live in), topping-up on an existing mortgage, or moving to a different Fixed rate.

What you need

A valid BER certificate with a rating dated in the last ten years between A1 and B3.

Complete the Home Loan Interest Rate Application Form and forward this with a copy of your BER certificate via post to

Additional information

  • Our existing mortgage customers can apply for the green 4-year fixed rate mortgage if there is at least four years remaining on your current Haven mortgage.
  • If you are on an existing Haven Fixed rate, an early breakage charge may apply.

  • There may be costs associated with obtaining a BER Certificate. Please refer to www.seai.ie for further information.
  • If you are drawing down a Self-Build Mortgage loan you can apply for the Haven Green 4 Year Fixed Rate once your property has been completed and has a BER Cerftificate of A1,A2,A3, B1,B2 or B3. All Stage payments must be drawn before you can apply fo this rate.

  • If you have a tracker mortgage with another mortgage provider switching your mortgage to Haven means you will lose your tracker rate.
  • We can change, withdraw or swap the features and/or the associated rates of the Haven Green 4 Year Fixed rate mortgage without notice. Customers already on the rate will keep that rate until the end of their Fixed Rate period.
  • We recommend that you get independent financial advice before deciding to take the Haven Green 4 Year Fixed Rate mortgage.
  • Your Broker can provide you with a specific cost of credit illustration for the various options you are interested in, which will help you decide.
  • We will provide you with the Cost of Credit specific to your mortgage in your Letter of Offer. This Cost of Credit will be specific to the rate you have chosen.

You can’t apply for the Haven green 4-year fixed rate mortgage if:

  • You are a self-build mortgage customer still receiving stage payments;
  • You don’t have a BER certificate with a rating of A1 toB3;
  • The property’s BER certificate is older than 10 years;
  • Your existing mortgage loan is a Buy to Let mortgage.

Before the end of your Haven Green 4-year Fixed rate mortgage term, we will send you a list of interest rates we offer at that time. You can then choose a new rate.

You can apply for the Haven Green 4-year Fixed rate again if:

  • Your property’s BER certificate has a rating of A1 toB3; and
  • You have a BER certificate dated within 10 years; and
  • The Haven green 4-year fixed rate is still available

If you do not select an interest rate, the default Standard Variable rate offered by us at that time will be applied.
